To get your career in trucking rolling, a Swift Driving Academy is the place to start. Tuition for the comprehensive 23-day course is $3,900. Swift will reimburse you for the total cost of the course over the period of 26 consecutive months of employment with Swift. There is a non-refundable sitting fee of $150 due on your first day of class. Your tuition includes the following:
• 207-hour course
• Student housing
• Bus transportation to and from the Academy
• All study materials and testing
• Physical, Workwell, and drug screen testing
• All license fees

For students from Pennsylvania, North Carolina or South Carolina, please check with your Swift recruiter, as special permit requirements exist.

Transport America's Driver Training Program
This program is for an inexperienced driver. This program is designed so that a inexperienced driver can advance in to a professional experienced driver.
Phase 1:
During this 6 day period the driver will be spending his/her time between the classroom and road and range training.
* During the classroom time the driver will spend his/her time learning safety procedures, freight handling, trip planning, DOT motor carrier rules, and Transport America company policies.
* During orientation the driver will drive Transport America company equipment and will hone his/her driving skills on the road and they will also learn more challenging slow maneuvers.
Phase 2:
During this part of the training program the driver will be on the road with one of Transport Americas qualified driver instructors for about four weeks.
* During this time the driver will gain experience and confidence in his/her driving ability.
* When both the driver and instructor determine that driver is ready, he/she will be released into solo status and he/she will start their career as a professional driver.
Earn While You Learn:
* Transport America will provide transportation to and from their orientation site and will provide the driver with room and board during the 6 day stay.
* The driver will earn $350 for completing orientation and will earn $350 for each week that he/she is on the road with the Driver Instructor

ALABAMA BENZ DRIVING ACADEMY
Birmingham, AL
3 week program
Cost= $2000.00
Down Payment= $200.00
Additional fees= $131.00 license & testing
Must live in AL, MS, & FL panhandle (check to see if currently hiring)
In all cases driver will pay back Interest Free Loan (IFL) at $50 per check until school is paid off.
Upon completion of one year employment USA TRUCK will give the driver a $1000.00 Bonus
USA Currently has 250 active trainers
** If student does not live in adjoining state, they will have to provide own transportation.

Classroom hours: 08:00 – 16:30
Day one: Monday
· Welcome by the staff
· Complete all paper work
· Pick-up CDL packets and books

Day two: Tuesday
· Reading the CDL manual
· Videos and oral discussion
· Start practice tests
Day three: Wednesday
· Test on all sections of the manual
· Oral discussions
Day four: Thursday
· Simple test on all sections. A.M.
· State test. P.M.
Lisa Motor Lines provides a training program in Pine Bluff for qualified students. The tuition, physical and drug screen, a grocery allowance, and money for the CDL is all provided by Lisa Motor Lines. They also provide the students housing and transportation.
The following curriculum is the same for each day which starts on Friday and goes thru Wednesday.
· 05:00 to 05:10 – Safety Meeting
· 05:10 to 05:30 – Pre Trip Inspection
· 05:30 to 11:00 – Road work
· 11:00 to 12:00 – Lunch break
· 12:00 to 16:30 – Road work
· 17:00 to 20:00 – Road Work (optional)
Transport America does not offer a CDL schooling, but has developed a comprehensive training program for those new to the trucking industry. Their highly qualified team supports you as you progress through their on-the-job, paid training program and into your new career.
USA Truck offers CDL schooling to qualified applicants in Weatherford, Texas. Once you have completed your CDL schooling you are placed with a highly qualified trainer for 4-6 weeks. While in training you will make $400 a week. USA also offers a tuition reimbursement plan.
